I had lunch in The Coronation Hall, Surbiton. Mediterranean Salad and a drink.

Very nice. I had quinoa for, I think, the first time, I was pleasantly surprised. I could eat it again next time I am in a 'spoons.

Spotted Tim Martin in The Last Stop in Southend-on-Sea yesterday.
No bad £3.53 a pint of lager. Better than the £7 a pint I was paying at the cider festival later.

Being an Essex lad, I like The Blue Boar in Billericay or The Parson's Barn in Shoebury, both of which don't seem to attract the usual Wetherspoons clientele.
My hometown is soon to be getting a new Wetherspoons to replace one that shut down a couple of years ago. The King of Essex is it's name, I will be avoiding.

Thats the one. The rhubarb and custard cider I was drinking yesterday must have muddled my brain.

A mate of mine once ordered a wrap and some chips from our local Wetherspoons. He found a random baked bean among the cold chips. Questions were asked were they recycling the chips that were leftover on other customers plates.

Yes, Basildon.

The old one, The Moon on the Square always reminded me of Obi-Wan's warning to Luke Skywalker as they approached Mos Eisly Space Port,

“you’ll never find a more wretched hive of scum and villainy.”

Surely it’s vastly more likely to be a random bean drop off another plate when they get loaded up on the pass.
