Local brewery posted this today which has some relevance to what we were discussing about supermarket “craft”.
1. Keeping cold and at a stable low temp reduces any potential secondary fermentation.
2. It prevents CO2 from coming out of solution (roughly 11C and above).
3. Beer quality is dramatically affected by warmer temperatures. A rough guide is roughly 1 day = 1 week. So a beer you keep at room temp for just over a week will be equivalent to beer stored correctly in the fridge after nearly 2 months.
Yep. Cloudwater have a cold chain service for local deliveries and it goes straight into my cold cellar or fridge 1. Keeping cold and at a stable low temp reduces any potential secondary fermentation.

Picked up these four from Tesco yesterday. Had the two Cloudwater ones last night. Nice juicy IPAs, think one was £2.40 and the other 3 quid maybe 3.50.

Quite a u-turn by Cloudwater regarding supermarkets. ![](https://thumbsnap.com/sc/hVtFp8D3.jpg)
I believe that the Tesco ones are brewed by Brew Dog.
I'm enjoying the last of their soon to disappear core range available through their once sacred 'cold chain'.

My remaining Christmas beers. The West Coast IPA is all gone but pleased to see that Cloudwater will continue it through 2022. They got rid of their core range recently after the tesco deal, but now seem to be backtracking a little by introducing some stuff that will be semi permanently available as well as the limited run stuff.

I'm currently on a US road trip and sampling some beers along the way. In Death Valley at present at Stovepipe Wells which has a surprisingly good selection of craft beer.
Highlights so far are the Mountain Rambler Venusian Blonde Ale which is perfect for this 36 degree heat. I'll be heading up to the brewery in Bishop in a few days.
Also good was an Indian Wells Brewery IPA..think its Death Valley IPA?

I've stayed there too, and the bar/restaurant is pretty good for somewhere literally in the middle of nowhere. Not much competition for the tourist trade probably helps ![biggrin](/inc/images/biggrin.gif)
(These days you seem to be guaranteed to have a half decent beer choice in any bar in the USA, even if it is just the brands owned by the mega breweries)
Don't drink too much and miss the sunrise.
I was up at 6 for the sunrise

Nice, what's your itinerary. I would like to get back over myself at some point this year. I did a little road trip from New York to Boston and then back via Hudson Valley to Philadelphia a couple of years ago. Stopped off at some great breweries along the way and filled my suitcases with beer. I had to pay a very high excess luggage fee though and got a few casualties on the trip back. They must have literally been tossing my suitcase around like a rugby ball.Highlights so far are the Mountain Rambler Venusian Blonde Ale which is perfect for this 36 degree heat. I went to Manchester Craft Beer Festival last week.
Great location in Mayfield Depot.
This was my favourite of the day and I don't usually go for the strong ones anymore.

Had an excellent cloudy pale at my local last night. It had a long name that I can't remember but was a 3.8% pale by Sureshot. Not surprising given the history of the founder (Marble/Cloudwater).
Speaking of Cloudwater, Their Volley west coast IPA is my current favourite beer. At the very top end for a sessionable beer at 6%, but delicious. Was on draft at the Mackie Mayor, Manchester, last weekend.
