Bought some bottles from a local monastery the other day, apparently one of them is best if left a couple of years though.

Has anyone tried Mad Squirrel? I searched the forum and couldn’t see any mention.

I found them to be local to me and seem pretty big localish company. Just placed my first order and looking forward to trying their interesting sounding beers

Their NEIPA (Roadkill) and West Coast IPA (Big Sea) are great as is $umo.
Sappy, which has now sadly been discontinued, is one of my favourite beers ever.

That is good to hear! Can’t wait for my delivery now! I ordered $umo, Hopfest and Dancing on Sands smile

Tasting evening with a local brewery. Beers got delivered a few days ago and they're doing a 2 hours live feed from the brewery, doing a tour and chatting about the brewery and the beers.

At what price range? Some of the really good ones are expensive. Hard to justify for most.

Just got these from Beer52.

10 beers for 17 quid delivered (or 8 for 12 quid). You can ask for a mixture of light or dark beers.

Decent value for decent beers. The Buxton porter is good.

They've messed up their pricing then, its cheaper per beer to buy less.

These were last nights beers

This was a slightly cloudy Double IPA with big flavours from a relatively new outfit Turning Point (3 years old). There was definitely a 8.5% hit but very drinkable.

Roosters have been going for a while in the Harrogate area and have recently moved round the corner from me. This is a extension of their Baby faced Assassin beer which is a 6%’er. Another very drinkable beer but not as big flavours as the first but still packed full of flavours.

I got some Cloudwater Sabro IPA last week. I've had 2 cans I decided I don't like it. Too coconutty. Much prefer their DDH Pale.

10 beers for £17 works out as £1.70 per beer.

8 beers for £12 works out at £1.50 per beer.

Yes but the initial offer was 8 for 12 but you could add another 2 for a fiver.

Or pay the full price of 24 quid for 8 cans.

Took delivery of some really nice beers today from a french/Belgium distributor. Although it’s American and Swedish beers. The cost was eye watering but don’t think you can get much better.

My Beer52 supply ran out earlier than expected biggrin so found a local taproom. After this purchase, it's safe to say Beer52 is a bargain.

I’d rather get a small amount and drink telly nice beers than get a load of average beer.

Usually specialised beer shops keep the best of beers. The prices reflect that. They also steer away from beers that are sold in the supermarket.

That Wildcard cherry gose is a Tesco beer. Even by supermarket standards it's not very good.

Tesco has (fairly) recently started stocking some decent 440ml cans of craft beers from the likes of Cloudwater, Magic Rock, Tiny Rebel and London Beer Factory plus some of the collaborations with them and the likes of Drewdog. They were on 3 for £5 last week but sadly don't seem to be as of this weekend. Decent selection of DHH, NE and West Coast IPAs in particular. I've got a real soft spot for the Tiny Rebel X Polly's Brew "Pineapple Express IPA" at the moment, perfect pairing with a nice juicy burger.

By and large the specialists are definitely better though.
