Food looks really good - however even as someone who generally likes Brewdog, that beer is not. It makes Bud Light look tasty......

Sunday evening meal,

Panfried salmon fillet with mushrooms in proper butter with garlic, salt and paper.

Then made the sauce, fish broth, double cream and white wine seasoned to taste, then add the fish and mushrooms (would have preferred chestnut mushrooms but didn’t have them in), finally wilted some spinach in.

Crusty bread with proper butter.

Oh and a dime bar moment. We bought fresh asparagus but forgot to fry it with the fish and mushrooms.

That looks and sounds delicious, especially the crusty bread, to mop up that lush sauce.

What is this proper butter, you talk of, I guess we’re not talk ‘Anchor salted’?

I've done my week of not eating any food (down 12lbs) - so this is the last veggie only meal I'm cooking for Sista D. Fresh warm sourdough bread with olive oil and balsamic (in a 10:1 ratio), with homemade basil, chilli tomato sauce and gluten free pasta. Some reason family keep bringing round a ton of fresh tomatoes. Any way it went down well with Sista D

^ ^ ^ Certainly seems like you’ve put a lot effort in, trying to fulfil Sista D’s foibles, some of which look very appetizing, I’m not adverse to some veggie nosh myself.

A week no food, that sounds extreme, I’m surprised you have the strength to stand, never mind cook.

Last nights offering, looks pleasing, I’m all for, fresh tomato’s.

It’s a butter we buy from a local farmers shop. Basically not the current fad of spreadable butter that’s more like margarine. It’s delicious compared to margarine but probably not good for you.

Looks very appetising. I do 48hr fasting every other month. Well done on your 7 day fast.

That looks fab as usual.

Respect on the fast… I did a 4 day water only fast in June… pretty much 5 days with the very light food intake the 1st day after.

Had no idea how I’d manage, but actually turned out to be relatively easy… did a couple of 10 hour work days doing a light kitchen renovation in the middle too.

However, although I did shed some stomach fat, it didn’t help with the gut issues.

I may do another one next month as I found the mental challenge quite enjoyable.

Start of the second day is always difficult for me. After a couple of hours I am fine. I only drink water and run/power walk 10km per day. I will be doing a 5 day with daily 10km run and only water in Sept. Were there any problems/downsides that you faced? Apart from wanting to bite anything that moved obviously... biggrin

Got to laugh at how a thread about the dinners people are eating has now turned in to a thread on not eating.

A typical week day for me is a coffee in a morning then nothing other than water until dinner… I’m pretty much doing 20hr intermittent fasting at least 5 days a week… odd weekends I might have a breakfast or some lunch as well as dinner. This weeks been different as I have guests here and I’m not working… I’m eating a lot more frequently and suffering a bit as a result!

I didn’t find the fast that difficult… I typically have an hour or so around 2pm when I feel a bit tired/low energy, but this passes within 30-60mins if I push through it. The main challenge was around 8pm (my usual dinner time), but just kept drinking water and the urge to eat passed.

My mate does a 3 day fast every month and he guided me through it. I was taking 1 ‘cleansing’ tablet and 1 activated charcoal tablet 3 times a day. At the end of the 4th day he gave me an olive oil/garlic/something else concoction which completely cleared me out about 4 hrs later laugh

Then had another 24hrs without any complex carbs or animal protein, before gradually working back to my normal diet.

I lost 6kg in 5 days… pretty much all stomach fat. I subsequently regained around 1.5-2kg.

It did help reduce bloating over the short term (I suffer from SIBO), but unfortunately, it didn’t fix or improve the lower gut issues.

SiBO is back again now, so probably time to do another one when my mates back from his travels.

Silver wedding anniversary yesterday, and I took my wife to a great place in the small town of Root-sur-Syre in Luxembourg, called Peitry.
https://peitry.lu - if you want to have a look....
Always a highly recommended restaurant that wins all kinds of awards, but they don''t want the hassle of Michelin stars.

Amuse bouche - home made bread (which was soooo light!) with olive tapenade and a beetroot flavoured basket with chickpea mousse:

My starter, an egg cooked at a low temperature with a pecorino foam, guancale and small noodles, so it was like carbonara:

Mrs RC's starter, ceviche of sea bass with guacamole, sweet potato and lime:

My main, fillet steak with pepper sauce and vegetables. The "chips", not in shot, were like churros, made from deep fried garlic and herb mash:

Mrs RC's main, wild turbot with langoustines and shrimps and a wine and butter sauce:

I forgot my pic of my Crème Brûlée ...

Have my coffee and small cakes / house made choccies, instead. biggrin

(Yes, it was darker then as we were on the terrace. It remained about 25C until 10pm yesterday.)

Oh, and water from Rosport, Luxembourg, which features one of Luxembourg's famous bridges in the city, the Pont Adolphe, and Melusina, also a local reference.

We had wine, too. Carafes, as I had red with my main, my wife only drinks white.

All possible ribbing content aside, there is plenty of material there.

That looks positively divine, without being overly pretentious.

Congratulations to you both, may you have many more.
