Pegotty’s in Benhavista is one of the best fish and chips shops I’ve ever been to. Dine in, as we did tonight, and your fish is in front of you straight out of the fryer…. Proper.

Usual accompaniments of mushy peas and chip shop curry.

Unfortunately I was so looking forward to it I’d eaten a bit (most) of it before I took the photo. Stuffed now.

This is a salad. Great thing about salad is you're not messing around trying to coordinate fresh veg etc. in timing with the meat or fish. No lettuce here.
I've learnt. I love the greek salad and I am starting to understand, what is expected is not what is needed.

I know you're in Spain so I don't know what fish that is but I'd consider it quite dire if it were cod or haddock in the UK?

Restaurant in Salt Lake City. It looked ok at first glance. But steak was tiny, and half the dauphinoise potatoes were under-cooked.
We've come to the realization we are now food snobs after 10 years of being spoiled in Chicago.
Sister D is now near impossible to take out for dinner as disappointment with dinner is just expected at this point when we dine anywhere outside of Chicago.

Cod… that’s the last bit… when served, the fish hung over the sides of the plate. It was a good 4cm thick in the middle.

Ideal for the June we're having.

Love a dumpling but I usually end up with the stew underneath a bit dry as the dumplings always soak up more liquid and grow bigger than I expect.

For 65 quid that looks very good value.
