Been away for a couple of weeks and we were missing home-cooked food. Frau GenX rustled up roast pork (crusted up in the frying pan with butter), I added mashed potatoes and our little green friends, with a dollop of apple sauce.

Felt the same here, not had a pork chop type meal in ages. Overdid the portions as usual. Should really be in the unpretentious food thread as it was all air fryer or microwave.

Lots of tasty looking food posted, thanks.

A pretty random pre-Le Mans fridge clearing exercise featuring past-their-best courgette, pepper, spring onions, potatoes, piquant chorizo and some frozen scallops.

Pinxos in a bar in a small Spanish town, one of those point at something in the display case type of places. Was raw, sticky yet slimy in a spicy marinade. The sinewy bits were very chewy.

Took a photo of the case for future googling, slightly regret my culinary decisions sometimes.

You ate pig ears, the sinewy bits where actually cartilage

i thought the pig bits was more of a portugese thing. I certainly didn't like them when i tried them over there. Incredibly salty.

I paid £50 for it 2 years ago, moved it 3 times and currently renovating my house. Trust me, it’s dirtier than the cutlery! Saves on napkins too…

Some friends came for dinner last night so another putting for the paella burner… had to go buy a bigger pan as the 45cm one is only good for 4-5. Bought a 60cm, which comfortable fed 8.

Valencian style… Chicken, rabbit and pork ribs, with green and butter beans.

Also did a prawn, mango and avocado salad with a lime and chilli dressing

And some stuffed piquillo peppers (no photo)

Niçoise. Pissing down and cold here so a triumph of optimism over comon sense. We're still eating porridge for breakfast and soup for lunch.

Fortunately prepared some of it in advance because it took nearly 3 hours to bring the lad back from York University to Halifax
