Whenever I have had that in China it’s more like egg custard and they spoon over a soy sauce and rice vinegar based sauce. Never seen it on a UK menu
It was the first time I've had it. Was expecting something like a poached egg but it was, as you say, more like egg custard. Was served in an oil of some sort, but was really good. CharlesdeGaulle said:

£50 and I have to drive 30 mins for the butcher. But saves a fortune over a week…if you can get organised. Which I struggle with.

Used to live in that there those parts. Try Jon in the pub butchers, their saussy rolls are delish! Depending where you're coming from, it's not the worst run out either, stop complainingcarlo996 said:
Went to the Ivy yesterday, was quite underwhelmed by the food tbh.
So. I have some beef shin which I had no clue what to do with....until 5 mins later and found a chilli recipe, which is taking 4 hrs. But the early indications are really good.

When you said you went to the Ivy do you mean the proper one in Covent Garden or one of those Ivy Brasserie chain places?
I don't usually eat fake meats (and never real), but when Juicy Marbles showed up in a local shop, with a ridiculous sticker price, I was intrigued enough to try it.
Put it on a bed of leeks and green garlic in lemon, with some roast potatoes, truffles and a mustard sauce. Was very impressed, would buy them more often if they were about a quarter of the price here in Canada. It wasn't steak like at all, but it was very similar in taste and texture to what I remember of salt beef, would make a sandwich with it next time.
