What's the cheapest way to get a flight in a private jet?
Discussion
I really fancy a flight in a private jet, just for the experience. I believe there are companies with which you can book flights on relocation legs, where a jet is simply being moved to a new location empty, ready to be used there. Anyone know which are the cheapest, or if there are any other crafty ways to get aboard one cheaply?

Blink jet used to offer a lot of empty legs starting at £1000 or so. They don't seem to advertise any more though. There are others out there.http://www.aircharter.co.uk/private-charter/empty-...

Cheapest there is £1,250 for a 75 mile flight so what's that, 15 minutes? Is a Learjet 75 which is nice though. http://www.aircharter.co.uk/private-charter/empty-...

Otherwise a flight to the South of France (more like it) aboard a Embraer Phenom 100 is £2,750
Paris to Newark in a Gulfstream IV is $65,000!
This may be rather less affordable than I thought...
Have done the private jet experience a few (ie less than 10) times. Find the private jet experience overrated, prefer business or first class.
The before and after flight experience is brilliant though, not having to do the airport security/passport/luggage thing before and after is fantastic.
Make sure its a international flight so you make the most of the convenience.

I’ve been on a couple of private jets on the ground and the smaller jets which you typically find on the cheaper empty legs are rather underwhelming. I had a poke around a Hawker that was very dated, by contrast I’ve also had a look around an A319CJ and it was really quite smart. The en suite bedroom was particularly cool, I was told it was $18k/hr for that so not something I’m ever going to experience for real.

At those prices, business or first might be a better option, not least because you can choose to go somewhere you want to when you want to, rather than simply turning up and one airfield to fly to another just for the sake of it. Guess I was hoping to hitch a ride on a Gulfstream to the South of France when it was on its way to collect its rightful owner for £500 or something.
Ah well, nice idea...

No prices on there, so I'm guessing not cheap... Ari said:
