I'm surprised that you can still spot the axle.

Seen so many boat trailer accidents in my time I'm scared to follow a boat trailer down the road sometimes, I rarely like to hang around behind one.

That NaCl/H2O doesn't like steel at all does it

Yeah this is a replacement trailer I bought, as soon as I got it home, whipped off wheels to find this. Good job really

I tend to be hot on with trailer maintenace, it turns ugly when they go wrong ay speed

Naughty boy!

As I run the brokerage department here I deal with all the used boats that come in for sale. Almost every single one needs bearings and brakes! It's crazy!

I had someone bring a boat in, and they completely denied that the bearings needed changing as they were done recently. He just point blank refused there was anything wrong with them. The annoying thing is, I had a sale on the boat but the customer wanted a sea trial. I called the customer to explain I wasn't towing his boat down to the slipway as the hub was about to come off and if it did, I would be in serious trouble with the police and possible liability issues if I injured anyone. He refused to have them replaced and continued to deny there was anything wrong with them.

The hub was literally violently wobbling from side to side and was going to fall off at any point! In the end I asked the owner to come in and have a look, and watch when my engineer took them apart. He did eventually pay to have them replaced, and I handed back what was left of his mangled wheel bearings!

Hi Dan, I got the message from your parts dept but as you can see, I need to get the trailer in shape before I even touch the engine

It looks like i need complete new suspension & hubs.
Have you seen any with the hub flush kit fitted? If so what do you reckon?
Don't want to put new kit on and find it in the same condition in 12 months

Standard 90% have no brakes.
Better to buy a complete axel, or PX the trailer with trailer company.

No problem. Yes, I have flushing hubs on my trailer. Most new trailers have them. It's a good idea. We sell the kits here so you can retrofit them to existing hubs.
