And as a result do you remain fond of that type?

For me it was a BA 757 on the old shuttle service between Heathrow and Belfast international, was 9 or 10 at the time, late eighties. Vividly remember getting pressed back into the seat by the acceleration and have loved the 757 ever since - lovely looking aircraft and nicely overpowered. Shame its out of BA service now

Shorts 360, in about 1982. And again several times as I was growing up and, yes, i'm very fond of them.

First I flew was Chippie WHP860 (IIRC) in 1993. And, yes, I'm very fond of these too!

A Cessna 152. We took off in clear sky and landed in a raging storm that had seemingly appeared out of nowhere. It looked more like a speed boat than a plane from the amount of spray being thrown up. I don't have any particular fondness for Cessnas as a result but I did enjoy it.

Slingsby glider http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Slingsby_Aviation open cockpit, no engine, not a vast amount of solid structure, bloody brilliant! Gave me a life long love of flying that has steered my career and my life to this day and will continue to do so. I was about 10 yrs old and my Dad even has it on cine film!

This is the 1st I can vividly remember!....

......Glasgow to Montpellier (IIRC!?) in the mid-70's. I threw up most of the way there whilst my father got loaded on free booze. Git.

Vickers Viscount. Leeds/Bradford to Jersey. I would think in the late 1970s.

First commercial flight? Can't remember. First 'other', Cessna 206 from which I jumped (with a parachute) for charity. First one I flew? G-BIMM, a Piper Super Cub and yes I still have a soft spot for them.
