When flight crews have completed an international flight and are staying at a hotel at their destination overnight before their next flight,do they go through the same customs and immigration process as do passengers?

Yes, though they may get to skip queues

Ummm, with some exceptions. Certain places tend to be less stringent toward private flights (bizjets).

Cheers,
I would imagine they would go straight through without the same barrage of questions, form filling and potential background checks and searches as passengers do though?

As they know you are most likely just transit or staying the odd night, depending on where you are, a simple show of the company ID and or passport is all it takes.

If you look next time you go through somewhere like Gatwick, there's often a separate passport control window over in the corner for staff.

Usually there are different immigration forms (if any) for flight crew and then dedicated sections through immigration depending on the airport.
