Whatever became of the Blackpool Vulcan?

Does anybody know what became of the Avro Vulcan which was parked on a patch of grass outside Blackpool Airport for many years (decades?), quietly and sadly rotting away?

I seem to remember that a few years ago, some guy had agreed to buy it and have it towed away, but the deal fell through. Next thing I knew, it had vanished.

It was broken up. On all counts it was in poor condition (corrosion). Don't know whether the Cockpit survived.

smashed to bits with a jcb.

cockpit was removed(badly) engines the same.

salvage company tried ebaying the cockpit and engines for silly money no takers so assume they have gone the same way as the rest of the aircraft.

It was Frank Barnes Metal Processors in Darwen Lanc's who finally broke it up. Nothing from it was ebay'ed by them (my wife is their Company Secretary) and sadly nothing now remains.
If anything went on ebay it was from whoever purchased parts from them.

The guy who originally won the e-bay auction, wanted to move it to his pub in Dukinfield, Gtr. Manchester, but then pulled out when he realised he couldn't move it due to the fact that it would have disintegrated.

He then went on to buy a Sea Harrier instead, after a protracted battle to pull out of the Vulcan deal.
