Battle of Britain Memorial Flight in defence cuts Petition
Discussion
It has been suggested that the Battle of Britain Memorial Flight (BBMF) which celebrates the sacrifice of those who flew during the 2nd World War, will be cut in the next round of defence cuts. This will be a travesty if it goes ahead. The BBMF costs a mere £3m a year, less than 0.1% of the defence budget. It is a great delight for all who see their displays, and the memory of 'The Few' will be lost. Please vote to ensure that the BBMF is not closed.

It it about time we hear the other non-stroy about the Red Arrows "not allowed" to perform at the opening of the Olympic games as it might frighten the athletes or somesuch??
Utter nonsense
(And dont forget the RN are so short of ships that they are recommissionning HMS Victory to take to Afghanistan)

we'll never lose the reds
What will happen when the Hawks wear out ? The 128 buy is so small that they won't be able to spare 10 of them for a display team.
The Socialists will love the money saved, but in 2011 will worry that the paint has not been applied in accordance with H&S regulations. And possibly in 2012 they will need a licence and insurance for performing in public. And the Muslims will be offended whatever happens, so they will have to be banned in 2013.
