It has been suggested that the Battle of Britain Memorial Flight (BBMF) which celebrates the sacrifice of those who flew during the 2nd World War, will be cut in the next round of defence cuts. This will be a travesty if it goes ahead. The BBMF costs a mere £3m a year, less than 0.1% of the defence budget. It is a great delight for all who see their displays, and the memory of 'The Few' will be lost. Please vote to ensure that the BBMF is not closed.

Calm down.

Based on an erroneous Daily Mail wail.

They're more likely to make the bods at MoD buy their own ballpoints.

What the BBMF brings in from private investors and contributors adds up to more than the 3m the goverment give it. Its all hearsay, we'll never lose the reds or BBMF, never going to happen. Scare mongering!

With a speed of 4-5 knots it's not going to catch many pirates, unfortunately.

What will happen when the Hawks wear out ? The 128 buy is so small that they won't be able to spare 10 of them for a display team.

The 'Red Barrows' of course:

The Socialists will love the money saved, but in 2011 will worry that the paint has not been applied in accordance with H&S regulations. And possibly in 2012 they will need a licence and insurance for performing in public. And the Muslims will be offended whatever happens, so they will have to be banned in 2013.
