Obscure GEnx engine question
Discussion
Hi,
I'm doing a bit of research on the GEnx (and the most recent P&W engine), specifically looking at the Fan Outlet Guide Vane. Firstly, has anyone got any detailed diagrams / computer models of the OGV? I've searched the net and haven't come up with much.
Secondly, has anyone got any info they would like to share on the design choices and geometry / materials / suppliers of the OGV?
I understand that this is a pretty obscure request, but if there are any aero engineers reading this, i'd greatly appreciate any info you've got - I'm not an engineer by trade, so trying every avenue!
cheers.

Sorry, but do you seriously think GE's OGV CAD model and spec would be available to the public?I'm doing a bit of research on the GEnx (and the most recent P&W engine), specifically looking at the Fan Outlet Guide Vane. Some info on here about the GEnx, http://www.geaviation.com/education/theatre/genx/
I have a mate that is quite heavily involved in the installation and service of most GE engines on passanger jets so will have experiance of these. (Just googled and they are the GE engines for the dreamliner yes? )
Doubt that you will get any technical doco but if you have any questions then i can certainly mail them to him and see if he is interested in responding, if you explain why you are after this.
May i suggest that statements like "marketing researcher for P&W or Rolls" will probably not be the best response

One of my best mates is currently having a hard time doing an aeronautics degree and was chatting to me about it, so I said I would try and help him out with a bit of research. He's comparing OGV designs from the major companies (P&W, Rollsroyce and GE) looking at the differences. It seems that there's not much info about on the GE engines, but a fair bit on the others.
Thought it would be worth an ask on here in case anyone had done similar projects or could point to some decent research etc.

OK get a few questions from him and i will fling them to my mate. He is currently in Cincinnati so shouldnt have too much trouble getting one or two answers .... i guess.
edit - just questions as he wont (unsurprisingly) have much comparison info with PW and Rolls.
