Since my beloved avsim.com was badly hacked a week ago, someone posed the question on their temporary website the old chestnut "could a flightsimmer land a Jumbo if the flight crew were incapacitated", which obviously is yes wink

Swapping this question around a bit but could a real world heavy pilot land a Boeing PMDG 744 or Airbus A380 on MS FS4 or FSX, (framerates permiting)

We will allow the professional pilot a super skilled simmer to press the correct MS keyboard sequence to trim and also program the CDU/FMC or setup a CatII/III approach maybe at Kai Tak IGS 13, or that well dodgy place in Honduras Tegucigalpa Toncontin Intl smile

Well could ya PUNK!! biggrin

Yes, I know Kai Tak has gone, but only in the real world

I think you'll find the 'heavy' crew member doesn't generally log either a take-off or landing for a sector....so you'd need find out how the food compares between long-haul First Class fare on your simulated airline of choice, and what MS FS4 or FSX offer, to make a valid comparison of the experience.

In the case of United, I'd bet MS FS4 would win hands down on the food front. At least it wouldn't poison you.

I'd want a decent hotel at the destination and the next day off so that I could go into town with the skipper for a few beers and a curry, surrounded by Scandi-birds. Preferably in Stockholm. Simulate that and we have a deal.

Flanders.

I was gutted when I found out. Do we have any news yet as to when it will be back in order. I heard over at Posky that they were gunna shut down, but due to everyone giving them support they will re-build the servers or something.

Ah we have fspassengers to bh and winge about inflight catering and piloting skils.

Normally I press the pause button, sometimes I wonder off down to the kitchen galley and knock up a bacon sarnie, failing that I may pop down to the local Londis Stores for something a little bit more exotic from their BOGOF deals.
Even the Flightsim food on "United" is Siht hurl

Sort of, put it this way, they're normally very 'positive' landings.
