Took this while landing at Heathrow yesterday...sure looks like they've been running up the engines.

Certainly looks purpose built.

Be great if it did.

It depends on what type of storage maintenance program its on as to wether they need to run up the engines/systems periodically ,keeping seals lubed etc,i would have thought though that they would have inhibited the engines,so this could be an intresting turn of events ,maybe some BA engineer will be along in a bit to let us know? (btw the "zorts" are a called a detuner)

I hope it is.

I thought that it wouldn't be able to fly again due to them not making parts, etc anymore though?

I thought the 'parts' excuse was used to stop it being sold to Virgin and BA losing face?

I thought the big issue was the frogs having the stress data and not being willing to maintain their support of the design?

Wow thats exciting news if it is... either way its good to see it hasn't been forgotten and left to rust away at the end of the runway if they are keeping her on tickover smile

In the middle of the biggest recession since the late 20's and with no engineering support from our Gallic cousins who hold the jigs and the spares and the data?

Dream on.

Get that posted on pprune.org . Might prompt some info (even if it is to do with basic required maintenance).

It will also prompt a fair amount of hysteria, wild speculation and general disinformation, but hey, you posted it here, so you'll be used to it biggrin

Post about it on the Concorde forum on here - http://www.concordesst.com/home.html

Someone might also be able to explain what's going on.

Maybe it's been dusted off for Gordon, the Worlds Saviour, so he can get to the next disaster quicker.

Just until he gets his flying superpower for Christmas.

afaik, air france retired their fleet for economic reasons [cheaper to use subsonic] and hints of a deal between them and airbus. air france and BA had a deal where if one retired the fleet, the other had to as well.

could be wrong though, frequently am smile
