Just posted this in the boats forum but as it's relatively quiet in there compared to here I thought I would post it in the P&P too.

Have a contact looking for a cruise ship either on long term charter or for outright purchase, not new but used stock. Current location of the ship does not matter, but should be ideally at least 200-500 cabins.

Any info/ideas then please let me know.

Cheers,
E

Blimey, that's an impressive shopping list. Have you contacted Dubai - maybe they're having second thoughts on the QE2?!

If I knew of any definite possibles, and if there was some spinach in it I'd tell, unfortunately I work in a different part of the industry. However, there are literally hundereds of Shipbroking Companies in London, admittedly most are involved in fixing cargoes, but lots will charter and sell ships, although I've just had a quick look at a couple of names that come to mind, but they don't do cruise ships unfortunately.

You can go direct to the Management companies, try these guys in the States, I have dealings with them:

Second hand cruise ships are hard to find, especially newer ships. They have been commanding a premium over the past few years, this may change as the recession bites and some of the charter companies hand their ships back to the management companies.

Added to that, there are dozens of new ships being built at the moment both small 300 pax to the mega liners 3000pax. There may well be a glut over the next few years with older stock becoming available.

you could look here for some info

or these manage and run ships on behalf of clients

Yes, please deliver a V458 to Monaco with crew, girls in bikinis and fully stocked bar. I will try it for a weekend and let you know.

Oooh... a 458 Vista? Nice taste you have there my good man. I do know of a 328 Vista going cheap but transport back to the old country may be a bit of a challenge.

This is a tad different from "what car can I buy for a bag of Haribo's and £1.50"

To be honest after trying my own contacts first of all the P&P was the obvious next choice of places to ask, especially given the recent interest in pirates/pirate hunting wink

His mate can't possibly be a pirate. He wants to BUY a boat.

How last year is that?

Pah to the OP's mate.
