I'm thinking of renting out the mooring I have at the end of my property. It's a deep water mooring with direct access to the Thames (200m off the Thames, same level). It's located in Surrey, so any idea what I can charge for this? It's approx 50 feet (15-16 metres) smile

Yes, with a 30 sec walk - if you mean for a trailer/slipway then no but this facility is 200m away. Private with keyed access.

British Waterways is running a trial, auctioning moorings, but it offers a historical list of previous prices paid at: https://mooringtenders.waterscape.com/

A central London mooring at Limehouse Basin or St Katherines Dock is about £350/metre per annum. (from memory). Residential

Equally, a swing mooring at Wrabness on the Stour in Suffolk is £60 per year!

Is that on the trot of moorings near the collection of beach houses on the south bank opposite Holbrook bay? Just had a look on the British Waterways site but can't find the info. Like to find out more about the moorings and the beach houses there, but can't find any trace on t'net

Sorry Steve; when I was referring to Wrabness it was through personal knowledge, British Waterways have nothing to do with that stretch of water!

The moorings in front of the Wrabness foreshore (where the beach huts are) are almost exclusively held by the beach hut owners. This is because the slipway and land is privately owned by the beach hut owners and access is via a secured gate. You would have to tender from Mistley to reach the moorings otherwise.

The land at Wrabness is owned/managed by Balhaven Ltd.

(I have a friend who owns a hut and yacht at Wrabness, so I could get further details if necessary)

I was looking recently for a mooring in the Greater London area for a 68' boat. Most marinas seem to charge anywhere between £3500 and £6000 p/a, with electric hook-up and other facilities. Check out www.apolloduck.co.uk, Waterscape (British Waterways) or canaljunction.co.uk. You can probably advertise your mooring on some of these sites.
