would imagine that more torque from the engine rather than BHP will help.

Also get someone "professional" to do a pitch and ballance of the prop, this can be very beneficial in its own right.

yes

Failing that get a supercavitation propellor.

Although that's really a high speed prop.

Does depend on usage but as John says, get the pitch and balance sorted.

What size boat is the engine in? A few people i know have added a pro charger to there boats with good results however if the boat in question has an alpha one drive i wouldn't consider it as pushing anything above 300 hp through these legs tends to have them blow up.

Get your friend to drop in a 8.1 litre 496 magnum HO! job done!

Doing the upgrade or not is dependant on whether the hull will allow the boat to go any faster. Hulls generally have a top possible speed due to their shape. I am not qualified to advise on this but a qiuck call to the manufacturer of the boat might save aggravation later.

My father had a supercharger on his 5.3 V8 back in the 1980's. Straight through pipes and it was the belle of the marine ball! An aural orgasm every time!

Good luck. thumbup
