I think there is a Jet Provost rated Pilot on here. FezzaDezza or something rings a bell. Post in the Scotland Forum, you'll find him.

Try Delta Jets - Although Hunter specialists they will more than likely have service manuals for the JP. Also www.jetprovostclub.com - There's quite a few JP operators in the UK that can help.

My old man was an instructor on them... doubt that will help you move it though, unless you need it flown to the destination, I am sure he would do that!

Go direct to the last owner/operators?

The Line Training Flight at <s>RAF</s> DCAE Cosford might still have the relevant air publications lying about, and if not they may be able to put you intouch with the people that do have them.

Probably no help whatsoever, but in a weird coincidence I passed a Red Arrow being carried on a flat-bed trailer on the A1 last week.

They're bigger than you think.

Description of aircraft as follows, Thanks for all the Advise though Guys!

JET PROVOST T.MK. 4 AIRCRAFT

· THIS IS YOUR CHANCE TO BUY AND OWN YOUR VERY OWN JET AIRCRAFT OUTRIGHT.(YOU WILL BE THE SOLE OWNER OF THE AIRCAFT)

· THE AIRCRAFT IS A JET PROVOST T.MK.4

· THE REGISTRATION OF THE AIRCRAFT IS G-BWGT

· THE AIRCRAFT WAS FORMERLY USED IN THE RAF (ROYAL AIR FORCE) AS A PRIMARY TWO SEAT JET TRAINER UNDER REGISTRATION NUMBER XR679 AND WAS CONSTRUCTED IN 1963.

· THE AIRCRAFT WILL NEED TO HAVE A NEW ANNUAL SERVICE AND PERMIT TO FLY ISSUED AGAIN BEFORE YOU CAN LEGALLY FLY IT.

· THE AIRCRAFT IS BASED AT SANDTOFT(EGNJ) NEAR DONCASTER IN NORTH YORKSHIRE,UNITED KINGDOM.THE AIRCRAFT CAN STAY AT SANDTOFT IF NEEDED, BUT COULD BE FLOWN OUT OF SANDTOFT TO ANOTHER AIRFIELD WITH A CAA FERRY PERMIT,OR YOU COULD DISMANTLE AND TRANSPORT IT TO AMERICA.

· THERE ARE TWO RADIOS FITTED, A TRANSPONDER AND A GPS.

· THERE ARE TWIN EJECTOR SEATS FITTED, BUT THEY ARE NOT LIVE.

· ALL COCKPIT INSTRUMENTATION AND SWITCHES WORK.

WE WOULD ALSO BE INTERESTED IN HEARING ABOUT ANY OTHER PROJECTS YOU MIGHT HAVE FOR A POTENTIAL TRADE. (PERHAPS A SPITFIRE...? ) IF YOU ARE INTERESTED IN SUCH AN EXCHANGE, CONTACT US WITH THE DETAILS OF WHAT YOU WOULD LIKE TO TRADE.

PLEASE CONTACT ME IF YOU HAVE ANY QUESTIONS OR YOU REQUIRE ANY FURTHER DETAILS!

Hope you get her back into more appropriate military colours. She'd look really nice in the old silver and day-glo Training Command scheme of the 1960s.

The pictures below show XR679 at different stages in her RAF career. The top picture (unfortunately in black and white only) is the scheme I mentioned and shows her from when she was still quite new.

The middle picture is from 1982 when some T4s were allocated to No.1 Tactical Waepons Unit at RAF Brawdy.

The third pictures is her in an all grey scheme in 1988.

Whereabouts in Lincolnshire purely out of interest?

There may still be some expertise in the RAF - I'll send a few e-mails when I'm in work tomorrow and see if I can turn up any contacts for you.

A colleague of my brother owns a share of a Provost based at North Weald..

The first thing they did was remove the ejector seat.

They didn't fancy anyone bailing out too soon, without having a proper go at landing it...
