In the town of St George's here, to meet up with the 60ft submarine he owns ? (Never heard of this before) - Anyway from rumours apparantly its going to be doing deep-water dives for some Oceanographic project that's supposed to be top-secret wink

Am gonna go up to St George's at the weekend and see if I can get some pictures. Just read up on the ship on google - its a big old beasty isn't it ? 128M - Strewth !

I'll post up some pictures if I manage to get any, or haven't been shot by private security !

Here's a powerpoint show.

Yes it's a big beasty - check out the cocktail bar and hot tub inside one of the side doors, which of course, when open, turns into a marina to tie up one of the many boats onboard. Only poor people walk up some steps to get a drink rolleyes

You know they are big boats when 1 helicopter just isn't enough...

I think this is a great photo of the jaw dropping size of Octopus !! You can see the Cruiser motor yacht by the side of it. The motor yacht looks like a Sunseeker Predator ? maybe 65-70ft itself ?

Owned by Paul Allen. Does he not have another 2 super-yachts ?

According to this following link it is the 4th largest privately owned super-yacht in the world at the moment.

Just popped up to take a look - difficult to get photos as its moored in the middle of the harbour and the houses bordering the harbour made it difficult to get clear shots..tried my best, Just have to say, my god its massive !!

You can just about make out the sub in this one...

Lovely photos. Well done. The helicopter looks tiny on the back of it. Probably a chinook is more appropriate !!

I have a (unhealthy, or at least unfunded wink ) fascination for these superyachts. Started buying the magazines (mainly Showboats International, occasionally Ocean Australia) about 4 years ago. Probably never be able to own or even charter one, but it doesn't hurt to dream!

Greg Norman's "Aussie Rules" was built down the road from where I used to work, some of the furniture was prepared in one of our factory units. I remember thinking that must be the biggest private boat in the world, when I saw the list of the top 100 I couldn't believe how far down the list it was! yikes

IIRC at one time Paul Allen owned 3 of the top 10 superyachts!

What amazed me when looking back at the pics was, in the 2nd picture - that's a 20+ft Centre Console and it looks like a little toy eek

I took these pics of Octopus last year, I didn't know anything about yachts, otherwise I'd taken some better ones.

Anyway, for those that like pictures of big yachts here they are, I could have done with a wide angle lense to fit it all in! Hope you like....
