Right, after getting rid of the Westfield I think I need a new toy. I used to sail lasers and enterprises at uni and would like to get back into the sport. Can anyone recommend any clubs close to York that is good. I used to sail at Yeadon in Leeds but it is a fair trek. And yes, I know there is a club in York but it runs on the river and is about technique not speed what with the river being barely 15m wide. It is not for me. Too slow, just too slow.

Also can anyone recommend a good 2 person boat - not too expensive, preferably with the main sheet leading off the back rather than middle (a la Laser 2), and not made of wood.

RS200?

Most modern boats have the mainsheet led to the centre of the boat. Even Toppers have this nowadays. Pretty easy to learn.

You're gonna have to learn the centre mainsheet if you want to sail these days! wink
