Emirates A350 Edinburgh airport

Does anyone know what happend to the new A350 A6-EXA at EDI on Saturday 18th January? I was on the flight to Dubai and It was delayed about 5 hours.

They were telling us at the gate that it was due to technical reasons and they were waiting on permission from Dubai to fly. I had heard that someone had hit the aircraft while they were unloading it.

I've since looked on flight radar and can see that A6-EXA hasn't done any more flights. I've had a Google and can't see any articles on what happend. It was obviously OK to fly as we made the flight, just ended up afew hours late.

I think the answer is probably in your question. There was probably an assessment to see whether it could be safely dispatched and then it’s subsequently been taking out of service pending repair in Dubai. These minor incidents must happen all the time.
