Qra launched from Coningsby, AI 777 circling over the North Sea.

Slightly tense for those on board with a Typhoon outside the window I imagine

Sonic boom heard over Norwich (I was driving and thought something fell off the car...) and North Norfolk when they were on their way.

I heard (and felt) the sonic boom over Great Yarmouth. The Air India flight looks to have landed at Heathrow now.

Bomb threat apparently. Just pulling onto a remote stand. Everyone will be very please to know they probably have even more waiting around. Potentially being greeted by the Police!

Ah, interesting as I hadnt seen this - a number of Indian airlines have had multiple hoax threats in the past few days.

What a nightmare for the airlines to deal with!

Great interview here with Helen Seymour (first female Typhoon pilot) on what happens during a QRA scramble.

Didn't flights always used to land at Stanstead for bomb threats and hi-jack threats, as the remote stands were, err a lot more remote than they are at LHR...?

I presume policy has changed?

I believe that this is the case. I can only assume the problem was resolved before it got that far.
