Just completed Day skipper and family gained comp crew down on the Solent.

So looking for our first sail.

Went much better than I thought, so as long as the all elements are with us I think it will be stress free and easy.

Any advice on first sail?

Places to charter something 4 or 6 berth for just a day or two with those quals?

I can’t help with your question. But, who did you use for the training and would you recommend them?

We used Nomad out of Gosport, booked the whole thing for 5 days with the family but they also do the standard training set up.

Yes 100% recommended.

Felt relaxed.

Tailored the days to us and the weather, visited all of the places you would want in the Solent and feel confident in carrying on.

I did the theory online it's was fine, if it was possible I would probably have been better in person or to set dedicated time aside, it's not difficult but there is a lot....I thought I could just "fit it in"

Congratulations on obtaining your Day Skipper qualification.

I can't help with sailing in the UK, but If you fancy sailing in the kind seas of Greece give me a shout!

I’d ask Nomad who they would recommend, they’re bound to have a list of favourites. I’d also recommend redoing all of the places you’ve ]been whilst doing your day skipper - it will take some of the stress out of your first “solo” voyages

Cheers
