As part of the D-Day commemorations there are embarkation events happening in a few places including North Weald which is hosting the D-Day Squadron.

This includes ‘That’s all Brother’ which was the lead aircraft for the drops on the day - interesting show about the restoration on Netflix if you’re interested in more info.

11 DC3s and C47s in the squadron, not sure how many will be in North Weald. They are off to Cherbourg after this weekend for the main commemorative event. Here’s a link if you want to visit >>

'That's All Brother' and 'Placid Lassie', plus two in civvy schemes were over my house on their way in and out of Old Warden this weekend. Lovely to see.

I was in Normandy for the 75th anniversary and there was a similar number of them then.

Was fantastic seeing all the paras dropping out of them.
