Mercury/Mariner PTT units
Discussion
Long version: I bought a project boat to sell on and when getting the engine up and running (added to the boat by the previous owner) it appears pretty much new. Cylinders are honed, flywheel has factory looking paint on the teeth and theres not a single spot of corrosion anywhere, even mild steel clips etc.
It's a Mariner sixty 2stroke from mid 90s.
My own boat that I use, has an 87 Mercury 70hp that has done alot of hours but runs well, but uses a ton of fuel and my boat is rated 60hp max.
I want to swap engines before I sell the other one on. My boat has a new 3 ram (design 2) set up, the other boat has a single ram.
Would I be able to swap the engines at the tilt tube and leave the tilt trim units in place? Are the ptt units interchangeable?
Short: can I put a mariner 60 with single ram PTT on a mercury 3 Ram bracket, or do I need to swap brackets and Ptt units too.
