Looking at the pictures of this and reports, it seems a very peculiar set of circumstances which have caused this collapse. From the maritime radar plot it almost looks as if they deliberately aimed at the support pillar. I doubt whether any "anti collision" structure/device would have been enough to stop such a massive ship from hitting the actual pillars.
