Hello all, bit of a long shot but I'm trying to find out where trains into the new Cambridge South station that's due to open next year will be coming from.

Basically trying to work out if trains from Norwich will be going straight into there. Currently they stop at Cambridge North then end at the main Cambridge station. My wife works at Addenbrookes (which is where the station is going to be) but we're trying to work out if she could get the train direct or not.

She can walk to catch the train to Cambridge currently on the Norwich to Cambridge line, and new car plans may depend on whether she'll be able to get the train straight there! At the moment it's a bit of a faff getting from the main station to the hospital.

I can't find anything that states it, may of course be too early to say...

Looking at the wikipedia page and Network Rail website it is directly after Cambridge main so at worst she'll have to hop off at Cambridge and get a stopping train to Cambridge South.

Only guess based on what we saw with Cambridge North. If the Norwich train is one that continues on to Stansted then it will almost definitely stop at Cambridge South. If it currently terminates at Cambridge then it will be swap on to a London train. I would guess all Cambridge to London trains will stop at Cambridge South as that is what happens with all the through trains going “north” stopping at the New Cambridge north. The whole hospital biomedical campus is very anti car so I think there will be a lot of shuttle trains from the city centre as the site potential has much higher traveller movements than Cambridge north.
