Motor Yacht Loon Y/T
Discussion
Was for sale a few years back as ICON.
My business partner and I considered buying it for charter purposes and made a few enquires but after watching the level of work, dedication and costs involved by the new crew I'm so glad we didn't (and COVID would have wiped us out).
Still have the brochure and an older survey document.

That's pretty interesting! Whoever owns it is certainly doing it right; there's really no expense spared. My business partner and I considered buying it for charter purposes and made a few enquires but after watching the level of work, dedication and costs involved by the new crew I'm so glad we didn't (and COVID would have wiped us out).

How have I not heard of this channel YT. I love superyacht content. My guilty pleasure during lockdown was Below Deck (contrived reality TV I know but still watchable) and have seen every series of regular, Med, Down Under, Sailing and Adventure lol. This Loon channel looks like I have a lot of catching up to do.

The new chef, Nina, has her own YT channel as well. ‘The Crew Chef.’
A charming pretty girl well worth watching. Be warned though, you could call in love with her friend - Tilly.
Will give that a watch ... she's a cutey !A charming pretty girl well worth watching. Be warned though, you could call in love with her friend - Tilly.
(note that she is also yacht master qualified and can run Loon in an emergency !!!!)
I’ve binged a few episodes now. Really enjoyed the one covering the crew days off in the BVI’s and chilling out at Bransons necker island. The videos are very well shot. Just a shame my LG TV and Sky Q app dont wanna stream them in 4K for some reason.
Anyone know the actual cost of the yacht as Ive seen numbers ranging from £30m to £75m and annual running costs of £5m. With charters running from £500k per week I guess that pretty much covers the running costs.

I think I have pretty much watched all of the new videos on YT now (uploaded in the last year not the 4yr old ones). I even bought a Chromecast 4K after finding my 6yr old LG OLED YT app doesnt play all YT 4K videos (some kind of codec issue). They look really good in 4k it must be said.
Was interesting to watch the chef episode where Nina first joined and her and Dean explained that they split their tips 50:50 so even the one off rotation for 8 weeks is getting income. Definitely seems like the definition of a "work hard play hard" job.

Really enjoying Loon and the crew , so much better than Below Decks , les Cheshire Housewives
I’m still watching Below Deck as the drama is funny.Watched the Amalfi Coast Loon vid last night. You can see why the rich & famous like to stay there - breathtaking scenery. Capri looked uber busy though. They even saw Jeff Bezos. $90k in tips for a weeks charter and the guests were off the boat a lot.
