Why is is so st?

On an Avanti today trying to box off a few emails before the weekend and it's like trying to connect to 90s dial up.

Why is it such an inconvenience?

I'd use a phone hotspot but that's just as bad.

To all intents and purposes it’s exactly the same thing. On train Wi-Fi is still just using the same 4G network as your phone. There will be multiple SIM cards on the train to increase bandwidth but that will be shared between multiple users.
