Spotted these today

Is this a daily thing or is it because it’s a calm day for boats, perhaps of the one way rubber sort?

They are usually there along with a French coastguard plane too.

Almost certainly due the first calm weather in ages, meaning the people smugglers had a lot of customers waiting to go.

Had it been further down the channel, the drugs being washed up in Dorset and the Isle of Wight could have been a factor.

They won't find people-smugglers in the middle of the Channel.

Yeah there's a real mix up there most days when the weather is reasonable, a Canadian registered dash 8, DA42/62's, PA31's, Tekever drones etc. Whenever I look I'm always a little saddened by the amount of private jets flying at 40,000 feet over the top of all the madness in the Channel, the haves and the have nots.

Don't be. 40,000 years ago it was about who had the biggest cave. It's part of being H.sapiens smile

I live near the sea, there were road men pacing up and down the beach looking like over excited toddlers

Presumably looking for a free shipment

I live on the coast , just the other side of the White Cliffs of Dover .
The red and white coastguard planes go past almost daily.
We also see grey ones pretty regularly .
We used to have regular fly overs by yellow Sea King S&R choppers when they were stationed nearby .
The highlight these days is regular fly overs by Spitfires on trips for enthusiasts often accompanied by a Harvard or helicopter.

Our waterski lake is about 3 miles south of Lydd airport. The coastgaurd comes over at least 2 times a day and some days its up there going in and out many many times.

On a side note its very interesting to see some of the planes that come out of such a small remote airport. Some of the private jets just dont fit with the area. Always makes me wounder who it is and why fly out of there.
