Gazelles over Oxfordshire
Discussion
I saw a group of helicopters this morning which did a couple of low passes over the Uffington White Horse in Oxfordshire. There were I think four Gazelles and a Scout, or possibly five Gazelles, I was under trees so hard to see them all clearly. They were not visible on FR or ADSB. Given the location I guess it could have been for a photo op, but does anyone know more? At least one of the Gazelles was in red/white colour scheme.
Thanks, that makes sense. Uffington is only a few miles from their base at Wantage. I'm surprised I haven't seen them around before.
It's interesting they are all on the civil register. A guy I know had a couple (ish - not sure exactly how many) of ex-MOD Gazelles about 25 years ago that he sold to the USA. I don't recall the details now but at the time I think he told me it was difficult to get them civil registered here.
