Hi all

Saw today that Rowland White is releasing a book on the mosquito in October. If its as good as his other books, it'll be a cracker.

Mods - please don't move as this is quite specific to this forum. Thanks.

I presume it will be based on the real exploits of the Mosquito rather than fictitious ones.

Of course, you are quite correct; Mosquito 627 in that case.

The real missions were every bit as impressive (in fact, more so) than the pretend missions depicted in "633 Squadron" (and "Mosquito Squadron" as well).

He's a good author but his book on the Shuttle Columbia was riddled with silly errors, which was a shame.

I thought his Shuttle book was pretty good.

It was the first book I read which demonstrated how much the Shuttle was as much a Department of Defense and CIA project as it was a NASA project. In particular, it outlined the political machinations that were required between 1970 and 1972 to get the Shuttle programme up and running.

I find his books quite difficult to read, the narrative jumps about too much for me. paperbag

But, he's a best-seller and making any money out of writing books is tough.

I loved Vulcan 607 and into the Black. Absolutely brilliant.
