I wasn't aware of this disaster. The era of filming makes it strangely nostalgic- harrowing tales told by those who survived, a spread of victims from racing veterans in a well fitted vessel to a couple who didn't even have a radio on board and were found in a search for a boat that tragically never made it.
Sketchy rescues of those who made it off. Everyone is given time to tell their story with no drama or judgement (even the clairvoyant).
It just seems a great time capsule capturing the cross section of sailors in the region. It was clearly a memorable event given some of the comments.
