best boat grp repair kit, any recommendations
Discussion
For scratches etc which don't require any reinforcement, what you need is matching gelcoat.
Buying gelcoat of the correct colour is the easy way, companies like BlueG or is it BlueGee? do kits with little pots of pigment so you can tint the gelcoat to match. Ideally the boatbuilder will tell you the correct colour or even sell you a pot of gelcoat.
If there's an owners association, facebook group or whatever, ask them!
You may need to add wax, but gel sold for repairs often has wax in it. RTFM!
There are many OK retailers of GRP stuff, your local chandler, EC Fibreglass, CFS etc.
When matching, you may need to cut the faded surface off the old gel. I use something like 2000grit wet paper, followed by 5000 grit wet, finish with Farecla.
