I used to live underneath the approach not very far away, and yes, they often look low!

The short runway, low-approach was exaggerated heavily with Typhoons stationed there for 2012 olympics:

They normally have a handful of bizjet movements per day. Just lucky timing I guess.

If you read Private Eye you'll see there's been plenty of fuss from the locals about the number of civil/biz jet movements at Northolt.
There was only meant to be a few, but the numbers have increased a lot in recent years.

I drive past now and again and have only ever seen an Apache and a Globemaster on final approach after many years

Either of which would have been a once in a lifetime thing..............

Cheers

RAF Leuchars near Edinburgh/St Andrews does/did the same for civvy jets through-out the year too, mostly around Golf tournaments, and again the MOD makes money from it so it's a "win/win" as far as the MOD are concerned.

Landing and handling fees are eye-wateringly expensive! Think my last was about £6k+ for a quick turnaround so it’s definitely a money maker.

Ouch, how much would they have been at Farnborough for example?

Ooh, I haven’t actually seen the bills at Farnborough as it’s all on account for us so nothing to pay. But I believe it’s about a third of the price. Northolt has you digging out the credit card. It’s all very expensive!

And there's still less movements than there was back in the 60's thru 80's and even later.....when I lived nearby.....and the bizz jets are not exactly loud either, unlike some of the stuff I remember from days past. Happy days.
