Ships off Great Yarmouth

On a kids trip away we saw these, Anyone know what these ships do. They look massive and are quite a unique shape.

Oil rig support vessels I think.

www.marinetraffic.com will give you all the info on a ship from its location.

Scroll the map to Great Yarmouth and you'll see they are VOS Patriot and Esvagt Nord.

I find them pretty cool, from both a design and operation perspective

They're platform supply vessels, these ones have what are sometimes described as axe bows which give a less vomitous experience in rough weather.

The first one is an x bow psv. Which supports oil rigs. The second looks like an anchor handler or multi purpose vessel.
