Duxford "in the cockpit" tour - worth it?
Discussion
Hi,
For my Birthday the Wife has kindly agreed to get me (if I want) the Avro Tour or the Spitfire Tour. She actually offered both but there are no dates to do them together on the same day in which the planets align and I can also get the time off from work, so it's one or the other.
I've not been to Duxford since pre covid, but it is also a good day out (I'll bring my own packed lunch though).
As I'm pretty stuck between the two, but favouring the V bomber I'd ask if anyone has any experience here in order to help me make my choice, plus if there are any tips to enhance the experience.
Thanks in advance, and a virtual Single Malt to you all.

From memory, at Duxford it’s £45 plus the entry to the museum. Ok, a full day, but £75?
Norwich, about £3 plus entry, so about £13.
Wow I had no idea !!.Norwich, about £3 plus entry, so about £13.
Norwich is around the same driving time as duxford, (give or take )from ipswich so Norwich it is. Thanks mate, I honestly didn’t realise they had an aviation museum there , let alone one with a decent collection like that.
The mrs will be happy too, as it is so much cheaper plus there isn’t the hassle trying to get a date to fit with my time off.
Cheers, PH comes thru again!

All I would say is try to confirm before leaving home that a volunteer who can do the Vulcan Cockpit tour is available that day. They’re getting old! One of them was my chief tech for a couple of years at Marham in the 80s!
