sure we read some where wd40 and vaseline for maintaining, cant remember which way round it was, does anyone use anything different

The lube they sell for drysuit zips.
Or Tesco's finest bestest most cheapest furniture polish aerosol..

Generic silicone spray can be good.

Hot water first to remove salt.

yes A kettle full of hot water is often all that's needed on anything that's stiff or siezed like sheaves or tracks and zips.

I'm never thrilled about using silicon spray or WD 40 anywhere on the deck of a boat as they do exactly what they're meant to do which is make stuff extremely slippery...
