Thats quite a substantial sized ship too as I initially thought it may have been a small patrol boat or similar but it's a guided missile corvette.

Something gone badly wrong there, for water to get onboard in the first place and to not close down and control it. Yes it was a big storm but that should not be an issue for a naval vessel. Captain if he survived will be subject to severe investigation.

Which smacks of poor design coupled with inadequet maintenance and/or lack of damage controll skills.

Thing's got a lot of hardware on deck, I wouldn't be surprised if it has had equipment added and lacked much spare stability; once there's a little flooding it goes bad quickly.

The sea state in the video footage is not what I'd call storm conditions and certainly should be within that vessel's capabilities.

I too expected a larger vessel when I first heard the news, and on seeing the pics from the other vessel alongside, when it looked like it was only listing, I was surprised by the number of crew reported missing.

Thaiger news report 9 alive sailors and one body recovered from the Gulf of Thailand, but they are not from the Naval vessel!
