One more incident that makes me think “Glad I’m nowhere near that!”

Looking like 12 squadron, in Qatar, to assist with air security for the travesty that is the FIFA World Cup.

Exactly.

I was living and working at Dhahran in the 90s and saw rainfall and flooding like I’ve never experienced in the U.K. horrific.

The roads in Qatar don't have drains so the underpasses just fill up - it happens every year.

hehe

I remember during the build up and training period before the '91 Gulf War, we experienced 4 days and 4 nights of constant heavy rain. Somehow most of our troop managed to swerve the worst of the flooding despite having to remain in our tank slots, but one of our troop's Recce Sergeants and his crew had the only CVR(T) Spartan in the regiment that was parked in it's own swimming pool...
