Not quite as I remember reading the book, but a charming effort.

The Yorkshire accent(s) for every character (voiced by the same guy, I assume) got on my tits a bit (and I'm a Yorkshireman myself).
There may be a much better one on the way: John Travolta caused a bit of a stir near where I live a few months ago when he was spotted shopping in the local Morrisons supermarket and eating at a local pub (nothing much happens in North Norfolk, so this was big news)
Turned out he was involved with filming a version of 'The Shepherd' at a disused airbase (West Raynham) nearby.
