I'd just like opinions on seating that PHrs have experienced while flying. I realise that you can't really compare first class on Emirates with cattle class on Ryanair, but would like to hear experiences.
I have just suffered two 80 minute journeys on a Loganair ATR42. The seat pitch was just enough for me at 5'10", but the cushions appeared to have no padding whatsover and my arse was numb after 30 minutes

If you want to experience really uncomfortable seats in an aircraft, try the ones in an A400M. I've flown many many thousands of miles sat in them, with the only way I've found to be comfortable is with a thin blow up mattress folded to the seat shape.

Commercially speaking, we recently travelled on an ageing Singapore airlines 777, the seats were quite hard compared to the A350 we were in for the first leg of the journey, to a point of my bum cheek getting pins and needles half way through the 13 hour flight. I'm not carrying much, if any, excess weight so someone with a bit of arse padding might have fared better. Wife didn't complain for some reason.
The moveable headrests on the 777 seats were also uncomfortable, and my daughter who's not very tall found that it pushed her head forward due to the angle, too high and it was at the top of her head, so she needed to sit lower in the seat, too low and it hurt her neck. Can't remove them either.
Seat pitch ,recline and width were pretty good for economy across the board.
The A350 and A380 appeared to have the same seats in Econ, all comfy enough with plug sockets, USB ports and decent IFE..
The only previous time I'd had that happen to my bum was on a 19+ year old THAI 747 into Bangkok, again, hard seats and a sore backside (caused by the seats and nothing else - ha) on arrival.
