It was in a red and whaite paint scheme, but I didn't spot any rondels etc, so that would explain it.

No Jet Provost ever carried "rondels". They did carry ROUNDELS though smile

There are a few JPs (and Strikemasters) on the civil register these days.

They RAF retired there's around 1991/92 when the Tucano entered service. The Tucano itself is being phased out now.

We desperately need a PH basic written English thread. No posting allowed until the course in the thread is completed. Every now and then the grammar nazi in me rears its head, and it rarely ends well.

That's the one I get to play with now and again (thanks to a mate who signs the paperwork)

I think there's also one up Scotland to?

( and no it wasn't me flying over your house, I was up 30+ thousand feet today in the day job - wondering if I'll still be doing the same next week eek)

I remember seeing them been used by the Omani Air Force when I was working at Seeb Airport.

Was a while ago though, so not sure if still used.

There was a pair at Yeovilton airday last year, put on a fantastic display. (Well, Strikemasters)

I thought they retired them around 1993, but brain is struggling. I think Saudi got rid of theirs before Oman did.

There was a jet provost based at Carlisle airport up until a few years ago - I used to see it buzzing overhead. I understand it was privateer operated and you could have a paid passenger trip in it.

I've not seen it in recent years, it had a red and white livery

I’ve seen one doing aerobatics over the water near Harwich a few times, not on air show days.
Did a part of my airframe tech training on the JP back in 1981/2 at Halton. Even at that stage in my time in aviation, that Viper looked like a joke!

I was there in 2005 and they were were under sun canopies in what looked to me in a flying condition and situation.

One of my colleagues has one. It's at Hawarden I think. A strikemaster that is.
