This looks rather wild from Sunseeker - very different from anything else they build, or have ever built!

First Sunseeker with outboard engines, first with no cabin at all (I think)?

Looks fun though!

Is it normal for these types of boat to have a toilet as well?

Love the way the door to the heads opens wide for all your friends to see while they're sitting there eating & drinking yuck

Pricey for what can only ever be a toy, but I guess it falls into the "if you have to ask...." category.

I’m pretty sure that in the early West Quay Road years they were just “speedboats”, ie no cabins or stuff. But I must admit to almost zero interest (I still think of their place as Bolson’s).

What you do is wait until someone goes in there and then get out into some bigger waves and get up some speed so you start to get water over the front, open the toilet door, let a big splosh of seawater engulf them and then close the door.

So many more appealing proper RIBs than this and if you want full on pose surely you would just get a Wally tender?!

Exactly what I was thinking. Saw a wally tender moored up last week in Milna Croatia and it just looked perfect. Then I saw the price of a secondhand one!

Okay, maybe I'm missing something, but why would you not close the door?

All boats are pricey toys, unless they're a trawler or something.

Now you mention it, the Sovereign 17 used in the Bond film QoS was an original Sunseeker speedboat with no cabin, but I think everything since has at least had a cuddy - even the little Mustang 20. All inboard engines though, never seen an outboard powered Sunseeker before.

62 knots is pretty serious. At that speed it's probably faster to drive down to the Solent and burn down to Devon or Cornwall than to take the A303!

How many fuel stops would you need though at that speed!

If you pause the video at 10:52 you can read the fuel burn figures per engine on the MFD! eekbiggrin

That sounds like an idea for a Top Gear 'challenge' film. Maybe Freddie and/or Paddy could be lost MoB in the process?

Well, sort of. But I think a short hop on a DFDS ferry is getting a bit tenuous in this context.
