Three very lucky folks here. Fortunately it was low down and low speed:

Crikey, that's very lucky - as a total novice, wouldn't the aircraft be able to see the heli on the runway long before touchdown? From the video it looks like they touched down then tried to take off again to avoid it...

I was trying to follow the site rules and putting videos where they like you to.

I'm not a big fan of "videos here only" threads for that reason - but I don't write the rules for the site.

That video takes me back; I learned to fly at Clearwater Airpark 20 years ago in a Cessna 152. I remember, not long after going solo, I was taxing to the runway and there was a R22 hovering off to one side of the taxiway. Erring on the side of caution, I decided to wait until it had finished doing its thing before proceeding; the plane waiting patiently behind me finally radioed to say that you could fit a 737 through the gap and to it was safe to go!

Clearwater Airpark is a pretty busy airfield. The RT transmissions will make interesting listening.

Remarkable that the R22 landed on its feet eek

Was the piper landing, or taking off?
