Yes, they did, but I'm sure it was spoiled for many railway enthusiasts because the A4 Pacific featured never ran on any South coast lines.

I didn’t know diesels did that. Or that the troughs had all that ‘infrastructure’ around them.

Yes - there was a lot of infrastructure because, without it, the ballast would get washed away from under the adjacent tracks......off to put on bobble hat!

My Dad used to own and started restoration of the 0-6-0 tank engine "Colwyn" that hauled the local train in that episode. Not sure if it's back on the rails yet.
