Being reported that Red 3 has crashed at RAF Valley. Initial reports say that the pilot has ejected although no reports as to his injuries.

I really hope that the chatter on Facebook is wrong.

Just seen a report that he's ok, and the source seems pretty confident, so fingers crossed.

2 crew on board apparently, but two parachutes opened, but low to the ground.

Reports are, obviously, sketchy however Red 3 appears to have come down as the result of a bird strike.

The pilot is saidto ok however some aviation groups are saying that civilians have been injured although no confirmation of this at the moment.

The plane came down on the runway apparently.

All sounds pretty bleak.

Rumours all seem to be indicating the occupants are alright - or at least in a position where they will be alright at a later date. Which is promising - but eyewitnesses can sometimes see what they want to see in these circumstances.

You can buy a new aeroplane....

BBC News said an Air Ambulance attended, so someone's not in good shape.

Fingers crossed nothing permanent/serious though.

Tragic news and a very sad way to start the RAF centenary year. Loved my job on the Hawk team and know a lot of people who work there will be very upset by this.

But it was true, although you can equate engineer for passenger. They could say "Fecking Crossflow wker on PH" and it would not be right.

How does the Red Arrows safety record compare to other RAF squadrons statistically? It seems poor but that might be just reporting as they are the Red Arrows. Any info to be shared? They have lost several people now.

Since Afghanistan I'd be surprised if they haven't the worst rate in accident losses, although that number is still very low (3 I can remember since 2000s?)
