One of Their Subs is Missing

Looks like the Argies have had an incident with one of their submarines. At the moment it's being said that it's a "loss of communication" but a search has begun in the southern Argentine Sea just over 250 miles from the Patagonian coast. 44 crew on board.

I’d like to see us try to help to save as many as possible if they are still alive and then after that we could put the sub in a museum as a attraction.

Reports of a gale in the area - life inside a sub on the surface would be very unpleasant indeed.

Anyone know what work they did on it a few years ago? Cutting a sub in half to do maintenance and then welding it back together again sounds a bit extreme! I know its obviously welded from parts when its first built etc etc, but you'd want to be sure the gas was good!

Wikipedia says they replaced the engines and batteries during the refit.

Strikes me as a bit barking that they have a sub out on exercise when they can't keep ships afloat in harbour. Putting peoples lives at risk to advertise what is plainly a non-existent capability..

Bet they don't have a rescue Sub, one of those that latch onto the top hatch and transfer crew at atmospheric pressure.

Let's hope they are all rescued safely.
